Local Tackle Manufacturers

Every tackle manufacturer out there started as a small, scrappy insurgency.  And let's face it, that's where a lot of innovation comes from, the people who've got nothing to lose - or maybe everything - and something to prove.  Do you think Pure Fishing started out as an industry giant?  Mm-mm.  Don't think so.  It started out with one guy, Berkley Bedell, not even out of high school yet.  He started a little outfit called Berkley Fly Co.  Well, anytime you pick up a pack of powerbait or gulp...  We know how that story has turned out thus far.

With this page, I decided to compile a list of local tackle manufacturers here in MN (and I'm sure this list is no where even close to complete, so if you know of an outfit, post a comment!).  I'm trying to keep the list toned down to smaller companies, so you won't see places like Northland, All Terrain, or Outkast that are fairly established and have a foothold in the industry.

Minnesota:
BassTEK Tungsten Jigs (Tungsten jigs, skirts, plastics)
Northstar Custom Baits  (Bass jigs, plastics)
Atomic Tackle Company  (Bass jigs, Punch rigs, Buzzers, Spinnerbaits)
Blue Fox  (A lot of inline spinners, not sure if these guys qualify as small, but I don't see a lot of them either..)
Leena Lures  (Bass jigs, spinnerbaits, plastics)
MG Lures  (Custom hand poured baits) Contributed by Matthew Tolic
Thunder Bullets  (Brass Weights, jigs, and spinnerbaits)  Contributed by Matthew Tolic
Sumpn Sumpn Jigs (Custom painted cranks, jigs)

Now, I know that MN locals aren't the only ones reading this and I do want to include my southern (and eastern, western) brethren.  So if you have a small tackle company or know of one, post it in the comment section at the end of this page along with a brief description of what they make and we'll get this list going!  Links to webpages would be best, but general contact info will do as well.
